Valard is proud to announce another major Wataynikaneyap Power Project milestone – wireworks activities (stringing of conductor wire) started on December 5th in the location of Pickle Lake, Ontario. Thank you and congratulations to all the people who made this incredible milestone a reality.

On October 29, 2020 representatives of Valard met with students enrolled in the Line Crew Ground Support Training through Opiikapawiin Services LP and the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association. The 12 week course prepares the students for work in the powerline field.

After 15 weeks, the Line Crew Ground Support (LCGS) Trainees have completed their training! A graduation ceremony was held today in their honour to celebrate all their successes and accomplishments.

Foundations work in Group 3 was completed on January 29th, 2024. Congratulations to al the hard working crews and the Participating First Nations for accomplishing this project milestones. Pictured is a completed foundation pad at structure VY154, on Keewaywin First Nation Homelands, ready for a steel tower to be installed.
Valard is proud to announce the completion of all tower installation activities on the Wataynikaneyap Transmission Project. Pictured is the last structure to be installed, VY210 in Group 3 on Keewaywin First Nation Homelands.
To date, there have been 3061 Guyed structures and 1171 self-support structures installed on this project.
Valard congratulates all the hardworking crews and the Participating First Nations for this momentous milestone!
